New accreditation gives ԹϹ sonography students earlier access to job placement

ԹϹ’s cardiovascular sonography program has earned accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, marking a new milestone for the program and expanding opportunities for its students.
This designation carries immediate benefits for ԹϹ students. Those enrolled in the program can pursue professional registry credentials up to 60 days before graduation, allowing them to enter the job market more quickly and with a competitive advantage. It also enables students to sit for credentialing exams sooner than graduates of non-accredited programs.
ԹϹ currently enrolls 21 students in the program and has a 98% job placement rate.
“The demand for cardiovascular sonographers is very high in North Texas and nationally, heart disease and research is very high right now and growing, driving the need for cardiovascular sonographers,” said Doug Solomon, program director.
Solomon added the accreditation should attract more students to the program, expand access to financial aid and reinforce employer confidence in ԹϹ graduates’ training.
And prospective students benefit from the assurance that the program meets nationally recognized standards, a key factor when choosing a healthcare education pathway.
“The CAAHEP accreditation is a hallmark of quality in healthcare education, guaranteeing that programs meet the necessary standards for training professionals across various allied health fields,” Solomon said.
