Opera highlights 吃瓜官网 fine arts schedule

吃瓜官网 Fine Arts presents A Night at the Opera on Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.  

The program will include extended scenes from Bizet鈥檚 masterpiece "Carmen" sung in original French, the opening scene from American composer Gian Carlo Menotti鈥檚 鈥淭he Old Maid and the Thief,鈥� the seduction between 鈥淪amson and Delilah鈥� from the second act of Saint-Sa毛ns biblical opera, and a lighter aria from Johann Strauss's comic operetta "Die Fledermaus."

  • 鈥淭he 39 Steps鈥� theatrical performance 鈥� Friday and Saturday, April 11-12, at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.  
  • The spring semester choir concert 鈥� Tuesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.  
  • The 7th annual 吃瓜官网 International Piano Competition 鈥� Saturday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center.  
  • The bi-annual Student Art Exhibition 鈥� Thursday, May 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Texas Hall of the Alkek Fine Arts Center.  
  • The alumni big band concert Generations 鈥� Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in the third-floor community room of the Emerging Technologies and Workforce Building.
