The 吃瓜官网 Board of Trustees received an in-depth look at the institution鈥檚 growing social media footprint during its regular meeting on Thursday, April 9.

Brent Baker, vice president of institutional advancement, started the presentation by recognizing the creative services department for winning three national awards in the past two years.

鈥淚n my nearly 30 years here, that has never happened,鈥� he said. 鈥淪o, they are cranking out nationally recognized work.鈥�

Crystal Woerly, director of public relations, followed with a report detailing nearly 17 million digital impressions and over one million engagements across the college鈥檚 social media platforms over the past 12 months.

鈥淪ocial media isn鈥檛 just where we post announcements. It鈥檚 where 吃瓜官网 lives in the daily conversation of our community,鈥� she said. 鈥淓very number in this report represents a real person who stopped their scroll and paid attention to Weatherford College. Our job is to make sure they find a college that is responsive, authentic, and worthy of their trust.鈥�

The presentation also touched on the college鈥檚 commitment to ADA accessibility, ensuring all video content includes closed captioning and that images contain alt text for visually impaired users.

The board was also greeted by the upgraded 鈥淐hamp,鈥� 吃瓜官网鈥檚 Coyote mascot suit, which Woerly and the Office of Student Life and Development worked on revamping this past year.

In other business, the board:  

• Approved the minutes from the March 12 board meeting.  
• Approved the financial reports ending Feb. 28.  
• Approved the quarterly investment report
• Approved a request for proposals for Coyote Village stair stringer, treads and handrail repairs and replacement.
• Approved a request for proposals for a library air handling unit replacement project.
• Approved the guaranteed maximum price for student overflow parking, Phase 2: paving and drainage, at $1.3 million, about $200,000 less than projected.
• Received written reports from 吃瓜官网 Wise County, academics and student services. 
    
  In his President鈥檚 Report, Dr. Tod Allen Farmer:
• Announced 吃瓜官网鈥檚 second annual Most Promising Place to Work in Community College distinction from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development and The EduLedger magazine.
• Announced the recent partnership between 吃瓜官网 and UNT Health Fort Worth鈥檚 Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Announced a record 59 吃瓜官网 student-athletes were named Academic All-Conference by the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.
• Announced the resignation of Helen Dandan, Associate Degree Nursing instructor, and Joseph Garcia, Law Enforcement Academy program coordinator.
