勛圖夥厙 fine arts presents seven April events

April is a busy month for fine arts at 勛圖夥厙. Make sure to mark your calendar for these upcoming free events.
All events begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Marjorie Alkek Fine Arts Center unless otherwise noted.
On Thursday, April 6, 勛圖夥厙s master pianist Hyeyoung Song will perform a Beethoven Piano Sonata concert.
Duane Durretts annual Its All 勛圖夥厙 the Music concert is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, in the third-floor community room of the Emerging Technologies and Workforce Building. The evening will feature Patrick Hill on saxophone, Kelly Durbin and Fredrick Sanders on piano, Durrett on drums and Lou Harlas on bass.
On Friday, April 14, Opera Goes to Broadway will spotlight 勛圖夥厙s opera students singing selections from the best of musical theatre, directed by Rick Rainey.
Saturday, April 15, will feature 勛圖夥厙s second annual flute festival open to musicians of all ages and abilities. The event will end with a public concert at 5 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 18, the 勛圖夥厙 Jazz Orchestra performs its Tribute to Jazz Composers concert. The evening will spotlight American jazz music and its influence.
The public is invited to the final round of the fifth annual 勛圖夥厙 International Piano Competition on Saturday, April 22. The event begins at 8 a.m. and will feature the top 12 pianists from 80 artists who applied from around the globe. The award ceremony for the competition will take place at 3:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at 5:30 p.m.
From April 27 to April 29, 勛圖夥厙 theatre students perform The Bacchae, an ancient Greek tragedy written by the Athenian playwright Euripides during his final years in Macedonia.
