吃瓜官网IPC winner presents concert, master class
Carter Johnson, winner of the 2023 吃瓜官网 International Piano Competition
and a doctoral student at Yale University, will host a master class at 5 p.m. Friday,
Feb. 9, followed by a concert at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Fine Arts Center. Admission is
free.
The concert will feature a selection of playful classics, reflecting Johnson's innovative approach to interpreting music as a 鈥減layground鈥� for creative expression. This imaginative program will showcase pieces by Christopher Theofanidis, Schumann, Brahms and Beethoven, each offering unique challenges and opportunities for artistic exploration.
Johnson, a native of Vancouver Island, Canada, earned a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of British Columbia, a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in New York and a Master of Musical Arts from Yale.
