Teaching also remains a stable professional pathway, with Texas pre-K–12 teachers earning a median annual wage of approximately $61,400 to $62,700 in 2024, depending on the teaching role. The Associate of Arts in Teaching provides an accessible first step for students who want to begin the pathway toward a bachelor’s degree, educator preparation, and future service in Texas classrooms.
Choose Your Pathway
The Associate of Arts in Teaching EC-6 pathway is designed for students planning teach in elementary classrooms or pursue certification in Early Childhood through Grade 6, Special Education, or related areas.
The Associate of Arts in Teaching 7-12 pathway is designed for students who plan to pursue certification at the middle school or high school level after transferring to a university-based bachelor’s degree program.
