How Do I Apply?

Admission Requirements

Note: Applications are accepted February 1 through May 31 on College business days.

Students applying for the MLT program must be TSI complete/exempt by the start of the program.

Successful MLT Application submission includes:

Phlebotomy Requirement

To qualify for the MLT Program, applicants must provide proof of one of the following:

  • A national phlebotomy certification,
  • Successful completion of the ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø Phlebotomy Program, or
  • An employer verification letter confirming at least one year of continuous employment as a phlebotomist.


Applicants who do not meet one of these criteria will automatically be enrolled in the ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø Phlebotomy Program during their first semester of the MLT program.

Selection Process

1. Points Awarded for Completed General Coursework:

  • A=4pts
  • B=3pts
  • C=2pts

2. Previous Educational Degree:

  • Associate’s = 4pts
  • Bachelor’s and Up = 6pts

3. Bonus Points (Documentation will required):

  • Patient Healthcare Certification (CNA, CMA, EMT) = 3pts
  • Previous Military Healthcare Training = 3pts
  • Previous/Current Military Service = 1pt
  • Resident of Parker, Wise, Jack, Hood, or Palo Pinto = 1pt

Interview Process

The 30 students with the highest cumulative points based on application will be invited for an interview where additional points are awarded. Then, students will be re-ranked based on new point totals. The top 24 students will be accepted into the program for a fall cohort. The next 6 students will be selected alternates.
